Day #1 of June Idea Lab was spent exploring and discovering new possibilities for visually expressing data sets with Upper School students. The Math Team and I looked through various resources and applications to find what could work for various grade levels and devices. Illustrator was my first instinct but won't work as well with students who have iPads in 5th and 6th grade. After looking through Canva, I found it to be a strong resource for any grade level. I'm excited to take the time next year to develop the lesson plans and projects with the math team because this topic is much broader than initially expected.

I have grown to love Canva and can't wait to see how you might use it with the math team. I feel like Google sheet has some simple ways to translate data to visuals but haven't played with it too much - just another idea that comes to mind and I'm happy to explore what else is out there with you and the team during the year as well.
